Pathping

How to supply a Pathping

You’re probably here because you’ve been asked to provide the results of a pathping.

Pathping is a windows program that measures the route between you and another server on the internet (exactly like traceroute) but it goes one step further and runs many pings to each hop in the route, which more accurately measures any packetloss between hops (necessary for troubleshooting).

First you need to know what server you are connecting to.
Check your RTL debug logfile for the server your RTL account is currently configured for (it changes randomly).
There should be a link to your debug log file in the start menu.
Look for a line like this:
configured for wow.exe to RTL gateway aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:1119

Next open a command prompt from your start menu.

and then run the command:
pathping -n aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd

Wait for it to finish… It can take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

Copy the text by right click -> select mark, select the text, then right click again, and paste it into an email.

Done!
